Anxiety & Relationship Therapist in Mashpee, MA

Yvette Chalifoux MA, LMHC

Who I Work With

  • I help people who feel overwhelmed, burned out, and exhausted while maintaining the appearance that everything is fine. My clients often struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing and codependent patterns. In other words, they're excellent at taking care of everyone else but find it hard to prioritize themselves.

  • I also help clients who are navigating the impact of their partner's alcohol use, providing space to explore how this affects them, their relationship, and their own wellbeing.

My Approach

My approach is client-centered, warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), strength-based, trauma-informed and mindfulness modalities. I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you explore what's weighing on you, develop practical strategies, and work towards the life you want.

ONLINE THERAPY & PHONE SESSIONS:

Therapy sessions take place through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform that you can access from home or any space of your choosing, as long as you have a reliable internet connection. Phone sessions are also available if you prefer that option.

Education

I hold a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology from Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts, and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Addictions Counseling from Antioch University New England in Keene, New Hampshire.

LICENSE: I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Massachusetts and a licensed registered Telehealth Provider in Florida and Vermont.

CONTINUING EDUCATION: I am committed to providing high-quality care and regularly engage in training and continuing education to enhance my expertise. I believe that ongoing professional development is essential to providing effective, evidence-based care.

Experience

I've worked in the mental health field for over 15 years and as a therapist for 13 years across diverse therapeutic settings. I've worked with clients of all ages and backgrounds, developing expertise in addressing a wide spectrum of psychological needs and challenges. Early in my career I specialized in working with children and families, which gave me a deep understanding of family dynamics that I carry into my work today. This experience led me to open Enhanced Mental Health LLC, where I'm dedicated to providing compassionate, individualized care to each person seeking therapy.

Frequently Asked Questions

The best way to find out about current availability is to reach out directly. You can contact me through the contact page and we can go from there.

Yes I do! I offer a free 15 to 20 minute consultation call before we get started. This is a chance for us to get to know each other a little, talk about what is bringing you to therapy and explore whether working together feels like the right fit. There is no pressure and no commitment. Just a real conversation. You can schedule yours by clicking here.

Honestly, the best way to know is to get on a free consultation call and find out. Therapy is a deeply personal process and the relationship between you and your therapist matters significantly. What I can tell you is that I work best with people who are ready to do the work, even if they are not sure exactly where to start. People who are tired of holding everything together alone and are finally ready to focus on themselves. People who want a therapist who is warm and genuinely invested in their growth. If that sounds like what you are looking for, I would love to connect. And if after our consultation call it does not feel like the right fit I am always happy to point you in the direction of someone who might be a better match.

Our first session is really about getting to know each other. I will ask you about what is bringing you to therapy, what your life looks like right now and what you are hoping to get out of our work together. You do not need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say. You just need to show up. I will help guide the conversation and make sure you feel comfortable along the way. Most people leave the first session feeling a sense of relief just from having had the space to finally say the things they have been carrying. It is okay if it feels a little vulnerable, that is completely normal and it gets easier over time.

You never have to share anything you are not ready to share. Therapy is not about pushing you to go somewhere you are not ready to go. I work from a trauma informed lens which means I pay close attention to your sense of safety and always follow your lead. It is about creating a space where you feel safe enough to work on your goals and needs on your own terms. If something feels too tender or too raw, that is completely okay. We can work around it, work up to it or leave it alone entirely. You are always in the driver's seat.

Enhanced Mental Health is a private pay practice which means I do not bill insurance directly. Sessions are $205 for a 50 minute individual session and $275 for a 60 minute family session, and payment is collected at the start of each session. All major credit cards are accepted.

I do provide a detailed receipt called a "superbill" that you can submit to your insurance provider for possible out of network reimbursement. Many clients find their insurance covers a portion of the cost so it is always worth checking with your insurance provider about your out of network benefits before your first therapy session. If you have questions about fees and investment you can visit my Therapy Fees page for more information.

I feel what makes my work different is that I bring my whole self to my work and there is only one "me." I am warm, human and I genuinely care about the people I work with. I am collaborative, engaged and invested in your wellbeing. I also have a deep understanding of the patterns I specialize in, anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing and codependency, not just clinically but on a human level. I believe that comes through in how I work and I feel it makes a difference.

Honestly, for most people the difference is smaller than they'd expect. The therapeutic relationship, the depth of the conversations and the quality of the work are all the same. What changes is the logistics. No commute, no waiting room, no arranging your entire day around an appointment. You can show up from the comfort of your own space and still do really meaningful work. Most of my clients find that online therapy actually makes it easier to be consistent which matters a lot when it comes to making progress.
